Free Screen Recorder

Screen Recorder captures your whole screen, a window or a browser tab, with your microphone and, in Chrome or Edge, tab or system audio mixed into one track. An optional webcam bubble or rectangle sits in a corner. Recordings save as MP4 when the browser supports it, otherwise seekable WebM, with no watermark or fixed time limit.

Quick answers

Is there a time limit or watermark?

No watermark and no fixed limit. Very long recordings are only limited by your device's memory, because the video is kept in the browser until you download it.

Why is there no sound from my screen?

Browsers only share audio in some cases: in Chrome and Edge tick “Share tab audio” when sharing a tab, or “Share system audio” when sharing the entire screen on Windows. Firefox and Safari do not share audio.

How to use the Screen Recorder

  1. Choose the sound sources: screen or tab audio, your microphone, or both.
  2. Optionally turn on the webcam overlay and choose its shape, corner and size.
  3. Press Start recording, pick a screen, window or tab in the browser dialog and wait for the 3-2-1 countdown.
  4. Pause or stop whenever you like (also from the browser's Stop sharing bar), preview the video and download it.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on my phone?

No. Mobile browsers do not let web pages capture the screen. Use the screen recorder built into iOS (Control Center) or Android (Quick Settings).

MP4 or WebM?

MP4 plays everywhere and is offered when your browser can record it. WebM is smaller and plays in all modern browsers and in VLC.
