Free EXIF Remover

EXIF Remover shows the camera, date, software and GPS location stored in your photos, then strips that metadata without re-encoding the picture. JPG, PNG and WebP files keep every pixel identical, other formats are converted to PNG, and you can keep the color profile and orientation flag. Clean many photos at once and download them as a ZIP.

Quick answers

Does removing metadata reduce image quality?

No. For JPG, PNG and WebP the picture data is copied byte for byte and only the metadata blocks are left out, so the image is exactly the same. Only formats without a lossless method are re-encoded, and the tool tells you when that happens.

Why keep the orientation?

Phones often save photos sideways plus a flag that says how to rotate them. Without the flag the photo may appear rotated, so the tool can write back that single value and nothing else.

How to use the EXIF Remover

  1. Drop your photos or click to choose them (as many as you like).
  2. Check what each file reveals: camera, date, software and, above all, GPS location.
  3. Choose whether to keep the color profile and the orientation flag.
  4. Download the cleaned photos one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

What is the color profile and is it private?

The ICC profile describes the colors of the picture (for example Display P3). It contains no personal data; removing it can make wide-gamut photos look duller.

Are my photos uploaded to remove the data?

No. Reading and cleaning happen entirely in your browser, which is exactly what you want for private photos.
